IT IS HARD TO DIE IN JUNE
The night smells lilac and sprout / My heart is like an injured falcon / Oh my mother, / It is hard to die in June, / It is hard to die in June. // I worked for fifteen hours / I died off for fifteen hours x2 // I am exhausted, hungry and sleepy… // The boss insulted my mother / Oh gritted my teeth / I told my hopes with whistles x2 // I miss a warm house / A hot meal / Kisses to make me forget in a warm bed / I got out of the waves, got out on road / The tanks are on street / The sound of the horns / With yellow leaves on the arms of the trees / There are skeletons of people // The night smells lilac and sprout / You said years ago there would be a plain tree on me // So after ten years / On morning time / The eyes of a cow / And a gauze //
And the face of Memed / And the straw yellow / And the red of the missing //
So the master left us / And the pain in heart is left x2 //
I carried this burden on my back for years / I left in the cheers of pain / The date of 3 June 1963. x2 // A red rose leaned on / A red rose is now far away. / Caresses the burning forehead / Of Master Nazım x2 // A red rose leaned on / A red rose is now far away. / He lies there now / In an old grave / The master sleeps / The master sleeps // The night smells lilac and sprout // Even when I pass by the shadow of the tanks x2 // A bird sings here inside my heart. x2 // It is hard to die in June.
